Joe Flarida

Joe is an experienced legislative staffer and energy and environmental policy expert. He worked in the U.S. House of Representative on the Democratic staff of the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology for five years. During his time on Capitol Hill, he developed a record of success at developing and implementing policy and political strategies to advance a diverse range of objectives for the public, U.S. scientific enterprise, and environmental interests. As a professional staff member on the Committee’s Energy Subcommittee he spent three years helping to shape national energy policy.

He left Washington after accepting the Robert Bosch Fellowship. As Robert Bosch Fellow, he spent a year in Germany studying German energy policy and working at the German Energy Agency and InnoEnergy. Upon returning to Ohio in 2019, Joe is now working with local communities across the state to reduce carbon emissions and create new opportunities for Ohioans in the clean energy economy.

He lives with his wife, Blake, and dog, Molly, in Westerville, Ohio. He is an outdoorsman, avid soccer player, and the funniest uncle.
