Gary Allen
Technical Sergeant, State of Ohio
Gary Allen works in Human Resources for the State of Ohio and serves as a Military Equal Opportunity Specialist with the Air National Guard. Allen helps recruit talent for the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, as well as plans employee engagement activities, onboarding, and coordinating employee transitions. In the Air National Guard, as an Equal Opportunity Specialist, Allen presents and trains about equal opportunity matters and helps to improve unit cohesion. This role also involves facilitating unit climate assessments and directing investigations into equal opportunity violations. He also serves on his unit’s Honor Guard team, where they render military honors to fallen veterans. Allen has served in the Air Force for over a decade, and previously was active duty where he served in Italy and Spokane, Washington. He holds an Associate Degree in Applied Science from the Community College of the Air Force, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ohio Dominican University, and a Master of Public Administration from Ohio University. He is also involved in the newly started (Ohio) Franklin County Veterans' Caucus, where they help to discuss veterans’ issues with candidates running for office and advocate for veterans. Gary currently lives in Canal Winchester, Ohio. He enjoys reading, working out, and working on his muscle car.
